Yeah April is here and although it started out beautiful we had quite a few inches of snow in Aviemore which was most unwelcome. But apart from that it's been a busy productive couple of weeks in yarncraft, reading and general life decisions so let's get to it!
Yarny Things!!
I've managed to complete quite a few projects and my favourite amigurumi designer is still the marvellous
Stacey Trock. Check out her designs at her website which is linked to her name. Her patterns are so easy to follow and always come out looking fab. I finished a chick which is really just a yellow bluebird:
But he was well received by one of my workmates who has named him phil. We're an odd bunch :-)
I also completed one of my other workmates (and close friends) birthday presents which she seemed absoloutly delighted with:
And these mittens were originally going to be a test knit for Mayamoonie knits but I messed them up so badly I had to make something else up from it. They turned out ok though and she has been fighting to make sure her family members don't steal them lol!!

So to help her with that I knitted up a pair of the
Leap mittens by Brooke Ramos for her daughter from the KnitPicks Felici self striping yarns. I loved this yarn and found it a joy to knit with especially on my favourite Chiagoo Red Lace needles.
Speaking of self striping I don't think I showed you my completed snake?? His name is 'Snakey' (little1 doesn't have incredible powers of imagination obviously!) and he was knitted from the
Itty Bitty Toys book by Susan B Anderson in the
Desert Vista Dyeworks 4ply in the 'It's An Arizona Thing' colourway.
I knitted snakey up when I was a car passenger with my mum driving when we went down to the creative stitches and hobby show at the Glasgow SECC last month. We had a great time and I picked up some yummy yarns:

Aren't they gorgeous?? Here's the link to my
Stash Page on Ravelry where you can find more information on them :o) Although I'm still not sure what they will become!!
And I also had the good fortune to get a place in the 'When Granny Weatherwax Knits Sock' yarn club from
The Knitting Goddess online shop. I was so delighted at this because I am a massive Discworld fan and I've always wanted to join a yarn club. The first month I received was the April 2012 colourway 'Deaths Broccoli'.

It's a gorgeous colour and this picture doesn't do it justice. I may even knit the socks from the pattern we got with it because I really fancy doing something a bit different for me!!
Sorry for no book news in this post but I'm going to do a only book post in a few days!!
